Lone Members
is a Lone Member?
A "Lone Member" is a member who either due to location (no groups in a location) or disability is unable to attend regular group meetings.
Al-Anon Family Groups is a worldwide fellowship of men and women whose lives have been affected by someone else’s drinking. South Australia currently has 4 country groups (refer to the meeting list).
Al-Anon Family Groups Australian General Service Office (AGSO) runs a Lone Member Service and SA Al-Anon provides extra contact and support. Once registered a Lone Member relies on the support of a “sponsor” who is allocated to them via the Australian General Service Office (AGSO) and who will correspond regularly. They will also receive a free monthly “Austra Link” magazine, newsletters (SA Area Newsletter and SA Lone Members Express) and be helped to start their own group.
There are no dues or fees to be paid and the SA Lone Member Service rely on our own voluntary contributions to help towards administration costs.
If you have any enquiries about this service or how to start a group please contact:
